Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems.

Being overweight or being obesed isn’t just a cosmetic concern. It increases your risk of diseases and health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. Being extremely obese means you are especially likely to have health problems related to your weight.

Everyone wants to look socially acceptable by looking healthy and attractive, so they do everything they can to shed unwanted body fats, from exercise to weight loss pills and surgery.

Hundreds of fad diets, weight-loss programs and outright scams promise quick and easy weight loss.
However, the foundation of successful weight loss remains a healthy, calorie-controlled diet combined with exercise. For successful, long-term weight loss, one  must make permanent changes in his or her lifestyle and health habits.

If you are obesed and are trying to loose weight,  don’t buy any prepared food that lists sugar, fructose, or corn syrup among the first four ingredients on the label. You should be able to find a lower-sugar version of the same type of food. If you can’t, grab a piece of fruit instead. Look for sugar-free varieties of foods such as ketchup, mayonnaise, and salad dressing. Also, avoid partially hydrogenated foods, and look for more than two grams of fiber per 100 calories in all grain products.

Make friends with Coffee (Preferably Black). Coffee has been unfairly demonized. Quality coffee is loaded with antioxidants, and can have numerous health benefits. Studies show that the caffeine in coffee can boost metabolism by 3-11%, and increase fat burning by up to 10-29% (6,7,8). Do not add a bunch of sugar or other high-calorie ingredients to it. That will completely negate any benefit you get from the coffee.

Never resort to crash diets. They sometimes work, but you will gain all the weight back, and gain a messed up digestive tract, liver and possibly screwed up kidneys. Never starve yourself.
