Gbegiri soup is a local Yoruba word meaning beans soup, gbegiri soup is one of the most popular traditional soups in the western part of Nigeria, mostly eaten by the Yorubas but it is being appreciated by other ethnic groups like the Igbos and the Hausas. The food is also quite popular in other African countries and especially in West Africa.
Ingredients: Beans, white or red 2 medium onions, potash, pepper, palm oil and seasoning.
Cooking Method:
Soak the beans in a bowl of water like about 20 mins, wash out the shalt and pour into a pot. Cook for about 20 mins, adding your potash to make it soft, After that use a short strong neat broom to mash it till soft.Add the onions, seasoning, pepper and palm oil and allow it to steam for 10mins , then serve with amala.
TO MAKE STRAWBERRY JUICE
Ingredients: 1 cup frozen strawberries, 2 cups water, 4 to 5 teaspoon sugar.
Preparation Method:
Pour frozen strawberries into the blender and add water, blend until smooth, then add sugar to your liking.
MANGO JUICE
Ingredients: 150g of fresh cut pieces of fresh mango fruit.
Preparation Method:
Slice mango out from the seed. Cut into pieces to fit blender. Blend and enjoy.
