JUNIOR Achievement Nigeria, JAN, says it has a target to train 350,000 entrepreneurs between now and 2020, claiming that this will lead to aggregate training a total of one million entrepreneurs through training, without giving details.

Chairman of JAN, Mr. Niyi Yusuf, stated this at the JAN 2016 award and recognition dinner. He said JAN will prepare participants in three dimensions of work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship this year. “Our target is to reach a million youths by 2020,” he added.

According to Yusuf, altogether JAN has reached 650,000 students in 750 schools, in 29 locations across the country with the support of 1,600 volunteers to date. “We have four more years, 2017 to 2020, if we  can reach an average of 100,000 youth per year , easily we will do more than one million. We are also hoping that with the help of our partners, sponsors, donors and volunteers we can reach more out-of-school kids  in 2017 and beyond,” he stated.

Yusuf solicited financial support and volunteers to help the group get to the North East, “that is an area we will want to get into in 2017, we all know the number of issues that is happening there. Once the place is secured, we are going to move in, give them training, skills and other capabilities that will give them the opportunity to thrive and be a very productive member of the community.”
